Well, we don't have a category on books, so I'm just going to start a thread on them here. (If it goes well, we can get a category started) To start off discussion, I would like everyone to state 2 things. 1) Their favorite book/series 2) The book they are currently reading, if any.
My favorite book is The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer, and my favorite series is Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer (Yes, I like that guy. lol). Currently, I am reading the first Artemis Fowl book for the 3rd time. (I'm such a dork. lol)
So come on, I wanna hear what you guys read!

My favorite series are 'The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever' and the 'Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever'. Written by Stephen R Donaldson. They are not for the faint of heart though.
I also love Harry Potter and the Dragonlance Saga and the Left Behind books.

I'm so so on Harry Potter, I can take it or leave it. I'm about 30 pages into "The count of Monte Christo" and I just finished "Memoirs of a Geisha". Along with others I am to lazy to write down

Hmm. I'll have to put that on my list. I'll make sure to read it some time. Also, I read part of Memoirs of a Geisha, though I didn't have enough time to finish it. I'll pick it up again sometime, but I'm in love with the movie.
I've heard of the Left Behind books, I think. Slade, can you explain a bit of what they're about?

the Left Behind books are a fiction author's interpretation of what the 'end times', as defined in the book of Revelation, will be like. just like the da vinci code, it is fiction, although it is completely based on scripture from the bible, even including passages in the books. they're good, but don't read too much into them.

-wakes up thread-
So now I'm reading "The Princess Bride". I'm really liking it so far, and I love how well the movie followed it (especially compared to some other book based movies). Next thing... I dunno. There's a bunch of books I'll need to read at some point, so I don't quite know which one will come next.
A bunch of books are coming out in September. The next book in the Psychic Eye Mysteries, Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony, and, I believe, the next Fruits Basket! Should be a great month.
