Ponder that Question

This is a fanfic that's been playing in my head for a while so I wrote it down for you guys to enjoy. Please give me some feedback! Positive or Critical is fine! Thankkies!

"No way. I have homework, Mr. Carlson is having a quiz tomorrow and if I don't pass it I go down a gradepoint." she laughed shrugging off her friends pleas to go to pizza with them. She loved pizza but really had her own reasons for not going with them.

"Pleeease? Just this once? You never go to pizza, and we all know you don't really study for your final." Amy said making a puppy dog face and sticking out her lower lip.

"Seriously. I gotta go." she cheerily waved to her friends who waved sullenly back and walked past the buses. Other kids climbing on to go home. Fragments of conversations and goodbyes clamored around her. Friends getting on the bus together. She'd just walk home today. Good day to do so too.

It was fall and the orange and yellow leaves covered the gravel pathways of the City park where little kids swung off monkey bars and played football and frisbee. Her backpack slung over her shoulders. She tightened the straps, here she goes again.

Digging a line into the gravel with the toe of her she drew the line across the path. She knelt into the track starting position, the shot went off in her head and she was streaking through the park. So much for walking home. Running was faster anyways. Passing joggers and bikers. Should she?

And she did. Tearing off her baseball cap her white hair unwraveled from it's bun. It flew out behind her like a flag. Out of the park now, she ran through the streets tearing past the pizza parlor where her friends watched bewildered as she tore around the corner and out of sight. Dodging around a lady she ran smack into someone.

"Oomph!" was the noise that came from the dark person that fell.

She hopped up quickly and held out her hand "Sorry! I'm really sorry! Are you allright?"

"Yes." said the hooded figure taking her hand.

Helping her up she apoligized profusley. She quickly tucked her hair beneath her baseball cap. "I'm really sorry about that. I shouldn't run so fast."

"Friend Raven are you alright?" a Redhead asked from the side.

"Run so fast? You were going at least thirty miles an hour." the hooded girl said dryly her eyes betraying no hint of emotion. "I'm fine Starfire." she added after a moment.

"Oh, well yea." she said ducking her head down and not looking at her, embarrased at being so clutzy. "I have to go." she curtly said and began to run home as fast as she could.

"Nice running into you." Raven said as the other girl ran off.

"Hey guys did you hear that? Raven made a pun! That's a once in a lifetime deal!" Beastboy laughed poking Raven in the arm. Who glared at him and walked ahead of everyone.

"What's her problem." he muttered falling into step next to Cyborg.

"I wonder who that was." Robin said looking behind them. "She can really run fast."

"Let us hope they are not out of mustard." Starfire said happily being the first to spot the pizza shop in the midst of everyone milling around.

"Yo man! Pizza!" Cyborg cried out in joy as him and Beastboy did an all or nothing race to see who could get there first, leaving Raven rolling her eyes and Robin still looking behind him.

Who is she? He pondered but shook the thoughts from his head and entered the pizza shop.

Her sneakers slammed into the gray pavement of her driveway. Taking off her backpack she took out the key from it's front pocket and unlocked the door. It stood there. Silent and empty. Just walking inside made an echo. She shut the door behind her and locked it. Throwing her bag in the hall closet and setting the keys on the endtable she trudged up the stairs without taking off her shoes. Not like anyone would care. Mom didn't even get off work until seven.

Plopping onto the bed she rolled on her back and stared at the cieling. Like that was going to do her any good. She kicked off her sneakers and sat up. Taking off her baseball cap she rumaged for a elastic band. Finding one she tied her white hair into a ponytail and slipped on her blue flip flops. The front door squeeked, she heard the lock click. It was too early for her mom to be home. It was only three twelve. There were solitary footsteps in the living room.

Looking out the doorframe she proceded to look over the banister. Just a shadow, pacing around in the living room. Closing her eyes she concentrated, and looked at her arm. It was invisible. As was the rest of her and her clothes. Perfect.

"Mom?" she called hesitantly, throwing her voice to her room where it seemed she was sitting at her computer or perhaps on her bed playing cards.

Creeping down the stairs silently she walked through the doorway and stood there in denial.

"Hello Fawne. It's nice to see you again. Or rather, not see you."

"I bet I can eat my slice faster then you." Beastboy jeered while holding his cheesey vegetarian piece.

"No way man. If anyones gonna beat you at a pizza eating contest it's gunna be me."

"Don't gorge yourselfs, you'll get sick. I will not have puking nitwits in the tower." Raven said dully taking a bite of pizza and staring out over traffic absentmindedly.

"What is this gorging of the food? Is it a Blorthog?"

Robin absentmindedly gazed at his bit of pizza crust left on his place. And that little sauce stain on the plates. He stared intently at it, other things on his mind. The other teen titans talking and arguing in the background.

"Dude! I totally beat you! I ate my last piece of crust first! You took too long swallowing!"

His communicator beeped so did everyone else.

"Titans, trouble. There's a fight going on at 136 Edmunds Drive. They got a wierd call from that location and heard yelling and a laser going off in the background. Nieghbors reported crashings and robots, it looks like Slade. Beastboy you go with Cyborg, I'll go with Star and Raven."

"Let's get this party started!" Cyborg yelled as Beastboy turned into a pteradactol and Cy climbed on. Starfire taking Robin by the hands and off they flew. Over the city streets to the outskirts of homes.

"There it is!" Cyborg shouted pointing down.

Fawne turned visible again and glaring at him. "Get out." she said in a low voice clenching her hands at her sides. "Leave!" she said again sounding much braver then she felt. Who was this person? Entering her house like it was his own? Was he a burgler? No, who would be breaking into houses at this time of day? When kids were just getting home from school and at four when people with normal jobs got home as well?

"No. It's you who is leaving." he said in a low voice. His stared rightback. She was trying to stare him down. It wouldn't work he wasn't going to put up with these childish games.

"What do you want?" she asked, still scowling. Fawne crossed her arms in front of her chest defiantly.

"My daughter." he said without emotion walking over to an endtable with a picture of her and her mom with her older brother. "You see, I have two sons. One who is dead due to his loss. The other has shunned me, but I have a daughter I've yet to meet. But of course, your mother wouldn't have told you everything." he picked up the picture and set it down again. Looking back at her.

Impossible. Simply impossible. Who was this man? Her father died in a car crash. Mom had said so. He died in a car crash with her older brother. This man was lying. It wasn't true. "What're you trying to say?" she said her voice bossy and unafraid although she was scared to death.

"You're my daughter. Whether you like it or not. And since your mother got the joy of raising her two sons already then why can't I have a chance?" He said, turning his back on her and looking around at the pictures on the wall.

"No you're not! You're not my dad! He died in a car crash! It isn't true and you're lying!" she shouted, her temper rising. This man was not her father. No. Fawne refused to accept this.

"You are my daughter. Like I said, whether you like it or not." he said in the same cold voice. "You're mother kept you long enough. Do you even think she loves you? Working all day and not seeing you except a few minutes in the morning?"

"She's my mom! Of course she loves me! You're not my Dad! If you were then you would know my full name, where I go to school, my favorite colors, how old I am!" she yelled exasperated, this was some mad man from the loony bin who was he to claim something like this? Her Dad was dead.

"Fawne Adeline Wilson. Greywell High. Yellow and Blue. Fourteen six months and seven days. You have ekzema." He stated and watched in satisfaction as her eyes widened in surprise and her expression turned to shock. "Your mother hated me for what I did, she thought it was my fault for making your brother a mute. She shunned me, moved to a different house and lost all contact with people she used to know. Giving up her job and getting a new one. She wanted to protect you." He replyed.

"Protect me from what? You? Because she knew you'd try and take me away? I'm not even related to you!" she said as a last resort backing up into the hallway but he advanced standing in the doorway of the living room.

"Ever wonder why you have brown eyes and your mother has blue?" He said coldly. Fawne tried to punch him, he blocked it, amused. "You have my eyes. And my temper."

"I don't even know you!" Fawne yelled as loud as she could she ducked under his arm and picked up the wireless from the coffee table and ran toward the door. He followed her.

"You can't run although from watching you after school you're very fast." He called from inside as she opened the backdoor, a robot.. thing stood there it snatched the phone from her hand and crushed it, the voice operator saying 'Hello? Hello? Do you need help?' was silenced with a crunching noice. At least five more were behind it. Running thru the laundryroom her flip flops skidded on the linoleom floor. Laser blasted through the wall. She ducked as bits of plaster flew through the air and the hallway filled with dust. "Don't kill her!" She heard him yell.

"Why can't you just go away and leave me alone? I didn't do anything!" she yelled at him. She made a dash for the front door and he grabbed her wrist, her bones screamed as he tightened his grip.

"You will not run away because you can't. You will not hide because I will find you. If you don't come, your mother will die."

"But you wouldn't kill her." Fawne said desperetly struggling against his hold.

"Try me." he said his voice cold. He pulled out a silent gun and held it to her neck. "Now you stay still while I inject these darts and you'll fall right asleep."

"No!" she yelled wrenching her throbbing arm loose and flying out the door in one swift motion her flip flops slapping against the pavment. She was almost off the street with something painfully collided into her head. A fist. She dropped to her knees and there was a pop of air and sent the dart flying into her neck.

"You will not run away, becuase you can't." A voice said into her ear, but another yelled from across the street before she faded into unconciousness.

"Titans GO!"
