My Story

She pushed a strand of light blue hair out of her eyes and ran across the water. Splashes with each step she ran across the bay of the city. It was night and no one was in sight. She hadn't run away, it was more like running to somewhere. She didn't know where yet. But now that she was in the city she could probably get a job somewhere. Running through the citys beach and into the city streets she slowed to a walk and began to look for help wanted signs.

Ever since she was thirteen she had kept up the same routine. Skipping from town to town looking for a steady job. Now that she was fourteen she was more likely to get a better job. Looking up the end of the street she saw what she needed. A pizza shop with a help wanted sign in the window. The light was still on inside. So she headed in.

Five teens were sitting at a table. One had green skin and hair and another appeared half robot. Keeping her head low and avoiding anyones gaze she headed toward the counter. She already stuck out like a sore thumb with her light blue hair and purple eyes.

"Um. Hi. You had a help wanted sign in the window?" She began uncertainly.




"Who's that?" Beastboy asked Robin over a vegetarian pizza. "I haven't seen her here before."

"Beastboy, if you had been listening, you would have heard her ask about the help wanted sign." Robin took a bite of pizza "Go ask her yourself."

"No way dude! You know what happened last time!" Beastboy said.

"What?" asked Raven looking up from her book. "Did you get slapped again?" she said as she raised her eyebrows mockingly.




"Yes are you here for the job?" said the cashier. "I'll have to get the Boss out here to talk to you. Can you wait a sec?"

She nodded. And took a took a stool at the counter and presently a bulky man wearing an apron walked out with the cashier.

"So your here for a the job? We really need a part time waitress if your interested."

"Yea. When can I start?"

"Hold on a second. You have to tell me your name and age first. Restraunt rules."

"Um. I'm 14." after deciding upon a proper name she said "My names Addy."

"Can you start tomorrow?" He asked.

"Sure. What time should I be here to start?"

"We open up at seven in the morning. So can you be here at six thirty?"

"Yeah."

"Ok then. Start work tomorrow then. See you then."

"Bye." Addy said as he walked back into the kitchen. She began to walk toward the door. The five were ahead of her leaving, as she walked out the one with black hair held the door open for her. "Thanks." She said as she ran as quickly as she could toward the bay.

Walking across the Bay at night was peaceful. The stars and the moonlight reflected off of it and the waves lapped gently around her ankles. She stopped and stood on the water near the island with the tower on it.

"How do you do that?" called a voice just yards behind her.

She whirled around. It was that one boy with the black mask she had seen earlier at the pizza parlor.

"Um. Hi." She said. Walking over to a rock jutting out of the water and setting it down upon it so that it wouldn't sink.

"Hi. I'm Robin." He said holding out his hand.

"Hi," she hesitated then took it "I have a thing with water, as you can probably tell."

"Yea, Why are you out here on the water?"

"Um. Just hanging out. Seeing the sights. Uh. I gotta go."

"Is that just an excuse to stop talking?"

He's much smarter than he looks. She thought. I need to go find a place to stay anyway. So technically I'm not trying to not talk. Who am I kidding? I need to get away from here before he finds out anything. If anyone knew what i had done. Skipping from town to town. Finding chaos everywhere.

"No really. I need to go find a place to crash. I'll see you later." She grabbed her bag and started away toward the beach.

"Wait!"

Taking a deep breath she turned around to face him.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Aqua."

Walking through the dark street lamp city's alone Aqua reflected on what she had said. It was reckless to let him know her name, even if it was a fake one, a superhero kinda name. One that she had made up with her two brothers and sister. But she felt oddly that she could trust him. She didn't even know who he was. The concrete buildings seemed depressing and looming in the dark. Addy shifted uncomfortably under her backpack.

The hair on the back of her neck stood up and she whirled around. No one. Letting out a sigh she changed her course. Walking down the deserted boardwalk she sat on the steps and took off her socks and shoes. Leaving her pack on the step as well she bounded out toward the water and ran across it. The water churned in the night and she leaped over the waves. Something she did to think. To relax.

She felt as though someone was watching her again. Turning around slowly this time, with no one still there. Turning around again she let out a cry of suprise. A pale faced girl with dark navy hair, and wearing a dark purplish blue cloak stood inches away from her face.

"Don't do that!" Aqua yelled out leaping back sharply. "You scared me!"

"Sorry." The girl said not looking very sorry at all and betraying no emotion as she spoke. "Who are you? Robin said your name was Adiania. I'm Raven."

"Um. Hi. I'm sorry, wich one was Robin? The Green Dude or the Masked one?"

"The masked one. The one with the cape. Beastboy is the wierd green one." Raven smiled slightly.

"Where you following me?"

"Just wondering where you were going."

"Why?"

"I just said. Why are you out here? Why aren't you at home?"

"Who wants to know?"

"Cyborg, Starfire, Beastboy, Me, and mainly Robin. It's not often some mysterious girl with power over an element comes to Titans Tower, unless you count Terra."

"What? You saw Terra? What do you mean? That's one of the reasons I came here was to see how she was doing. Last letter I got from her was that she had a cave in the desert near the city to sleep in. Where is she?"

"What do you mean?" Raven said puzzled

"Terra's my sister! We've had a little trouble controling out powers and well, we all split up so that we wouldn't cause too much chaos. We already cause enough trouble as it was." Aqua said forgetting that she was supposed to lie low.

"Well, what do you mean by all of you?" Raven asked genuinly suprised. Was it possible that there five of them? Each controling a different element? Fire, Water, Earth, and Air? Could there be four siblings with that power?

"I've said too much." Aqua said clapping a hand over her mouth. "I gotta go, really."

"I just want to help." Raven said, although she truly wanted to know more.

"Help? You can help by telling me where my sister is."

"We had better explain everything to you.." Raven said "Come on."

Aqua paused, hesitant, and followed Raven toward Titans Tower.

Oh wow, this is pretty good. One tiny thing: You said 5 siblings, but only 4 elements. Just thought I'd point that out. Keep on going with this one, and I'll keep on reading!

After finishing her story to the Titans. And twice to the one called Beastboy who was still halfway asleep.

"Who are your siblings then?"Robin asked after she was done.

"Well there's Pyro who is Fire, Terra is Earth, I'm water and little Naina who is air."

Raven nodded slowly. This was some fine mess this girl was in. She had to take care of her little sister, didn't know where her brother was and hadn't heard from her sister in almost a year. Clearing her thoughts Raven calmed herself. What were they going to do about all of this? Could they help very much at all?

"Where's Naina then?" Cyborg asked.

"She's alright. She goes to the Library everyday I go looking for a job. The library closed and she and I are sleeping on the roof of the library. There's a shed up there. But she doesn't like being left alone for long," Aqua explained backing away toward the door again. Do you think I could bring her here to sleep? She hates sleeping on the roof."

"I think it's a good idea that you stay for a while." Robin said "How old is she? Doesn't she go to school?"

"I teach her. I give her things to do at the Library so she at least does something. And they have a childrens section so that she isn't bored. But like I said, she hates being alone. Just let me go I'll be right back."

"Cyborg, and I will go with you."

"Ok." Aqua said giving in. Naina was probably worried about where she was. But Naina probably lit all of the candles by now.

Summoning up water from the bay she stood on it and flew over to the City Library. It was a magnificent place. It was three stories high and had books about everything. Landing softly she said "Naina! Are you here?"

A bleary eyed white haired five year old ran out of a broken down shed and hugged Aqua round her middle.
