Saro shrugged, grabbed his mug, which was adorned with Celtic knots, and filled it with the steaming liquid. He drank several mouthfuls, then held the mug in both hands. Slowly, he began to tremble. He let out an anguished cry as he shattered the ceramic in his hands. As the cuts healed, he pushed up his goggles and covered his eyes. "I'm a failure. I'm not fit to lead..."

"Don't say that Saro-dono" Katana put a hand on his shoulder. "Your sure better then me" She gave him a soft smile. "Tonight we made mistakes that we will never forget. We shouldn't doubt our selfs or give up. For Robin-sama we should try to make this city better. For both Shadow-San and Robin we will take down Slade."

Saro looked up at his friend and gave a weak smile. "You know, I like the way you think. Now we should get out there and see what we can do to change things. Wait... Shouldn't your brain be exploding or something?" The vampire quickly floated to a nearby mirror to look at his eyes. The irises were still that haunting amber, but the pupils were now... black? "My eyes..." Saro willed the chaos back in, and the swirling enigma returned. "Huh. That's interesting. Looks like I'm finally able to control these things... Anyway, let's get out there and hunt that madman down!" Saro yelled as he turned to face his teammates past and present, sliding his goggles into place as he did.

"Go hunt Slade, I guess. But first, I need to ask forgiveness for my sins." The Night Spectre floated towards the doorway, and made his way out among the rocks. "Starfire, I know you don't like me very much right now. And you have a right to not like me. I just ask that you'd forgive me for now, and that we could go and seek vengeance for what Slade has done. Please, forgive me. I'll do everything in my power to make up for it. If I could, I'd give my life so that she could have hers back. I'm sorry, Starfire. This was my fault." With that, the vampire turned to head back into the tower, as rain began to fall.

Star stands up and follows Saro in. "It is not your fault that this has happened Sarato. I shouldn't of blamed you." Star pats Saro on the shoulder. "I have lost two children in one day. I would hate to know what would happen if anything happened to Victor now. I am unsure if I will ever be able to fly again." Kori drops her head in shame.

Saro turned to the Tamaranean and smiled. "No, Star. I have to disagree with you. One, Caysie will always be with you. Two, Richard isn't gone. We can help him. Three, there is no way I would let anything more happen to you or your family after what I could've prevented. Four, you'll be able to fly. Between Gar, Vic, and myself, one of us should be able to make you feel happy again. Not to mention your husband. Now let's get out there and find the one who turned your son against you."
